Job Description

Job Summary
The Business Development Officer is responsible for marketing opportunities to potential customers, fostering growth of existing clients, managing client relations and is the key point of contact from Franchisees. The Business Development Officer is responsible for setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth, researching, planning, and implementing new initiatives and pursuing leads and moving them through to realization.
Roles and Responsibilities
Identify business opportunities for growth and development

Develop annual business plans
Develop annual marketing plans and accompanying budget.

Enrolment of students and Franchisees

Raise the profile of YA through adverts, events, personal contacts among others.
Organize marketing events at the center.

Publicity and marketing

Raise the profile of YA through adverts, events, personal contacts among others.
Organize marketing events at the center.
Write and produce articles, press releases and testimonies in the media.

Coaching and mentoring

Identify mentors and alumni that can provide mentorship and support.
Conduct training and mentorship coaching for students prior to going for internships.
Identify key note speakers that can give lectures to students to prepare them for the employment and business space.

Establish internal Income, Saving and Lending Groups (ISAL)

Provide and coordinate training in ISL.
Form income savings and Lending groups for youths.

Business Development Support

Conduct business start-up workshops for youths and entrepreneurship training.
Oversee the delivery of classroom based entrepreneurship training.
Create a business support system for youth venturing into business including monitoring the business.

Professional Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related discipline.
 At least three years’ experience in a business development role that involves writing Proposals, Tenders and Expressions of Interest.
Strong administrative and planning skills to meet deadlines.
A minimum of two years’ experience in corporate engagement.
Proven track record in sales and marketing.
