1. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE)
1.1 OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, reconciliation of debtor’s accounts and debt collection, preparation and submission of all statutory payments and maintenance of records.
1.2 PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop and maintain financial information using Sage 300 accounting software and assist in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
Assist the Accountant with the management of debtors to ensure timely follow up is made on all outstanding debtor amounts and send reconciled statements to clients.
Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and ensure that they are presented for monthly sign off and that all clearing entries are actioned.
Maintain general and subsidiary ledger and journals, accruals, examine completeness of financial transactions and charge to the correct department.
Preparation and submission of all tax returns and statutory payments
Assist with preparation of annual budgets and forecasts

1.3 CANDIDATE PROFILE

Five (5) ‘O” Levels
NATECH, CA, or Part qualified CIMA, ACCA
Three (3) Years Experience in Accounting and Payroll Administration
Strong knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Knowledge of statutory financial regulations
Knowledge of budgeting and cost control principle
Good negotiation skills
Must be a member of ZICA
