Organization Name: Family Health TrustLocation: Lusaka, ZambiaEligible Citizenship: ZambiaRole Code: Z03-NatRole OverviewThe Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will work closely with the communities of Family Health Trust (FHT). The Officer will be responsible for a range of inputs to the project’s M&E activities. They will also provide support on all aspects of monitoring and evaluation for the Continuum of Care team, focusing on building skills among team members in data production, data interpretation, and use for program and district management. They will mentor and coach personnel who work in communities in five provinces.ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of the activity monitoring and evaluation plan for a new project activity, including assisting with baseline assessments for new districts Design monitoring strategies and tools which help the project to demonstrate improvement in the use of management systems as a result of the project’s technical assistance Help to design other monitoring approaches to gauge the impact of the project’s technical assistance Assist in the collection, analysis, and presentation of program data for Ministry personnel, program staff, partners, and donors Assist in collection, analysis, and presentation of program data for staff members, partners, and donors Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual program indicator reports for various audiences and sharpen the skills of project personnel on doing similar reports Develop or refine innovative approaches, processes, tools and platforms which will attract program personnel to use data on routine basis for planning and decision making Mentor and coach project personnel to strengthen use of data for program and performance management Create a database which assists project managers to compile and analyze weekly and monthly activity reports Develop a monitoring system to support rapid response and routine feedback from officesFacilitate supervision of and training for health facility reporting in target districts Skills and ExperienceItems indicated with an asterisk (*) are required Excellent project management skills, including past experience working on complex projects from creation to completion, managing multiple projects, and/or coordinating across teams to meet tight deadlinesMinimum of one year of professional experience with monitoring and evaluation activitiesStrong writing skills with demonstrated experience writing reportsExperience designing and implementing tools for collecting, managing, and reporting data, such as surveys, databases, and/or spreadsheetsExperience planning impact evaluations and/or research projectsExperience with data visualization tools like Tableau DesktopKnowledge of indicators and reporting requirements for different donorsStrong interpersonal and oral communication skillsDemonstrated competence in multi-tasking, working in a fast-paced environment, thinking strategically, and delivering measureable resultsStrong relationship and rapport-building skillsCapable of using a collaborative, team-oriented approach to projectsWillingness to travelAbility to work well with others in a team environmentDetail oriented and high standards for the quality of workAbout the Organization:Family Health Trust (FHT) was established in 1987 as a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation that provides a holistic response to HIV and AIDS in Zambia. It was one of the earliest AIDS Service Organisations in the country and was established just a few years after the first case of HIV/AIDS was diagnosed in Zambia. Since then, FHT has made considerable contributions to health care service provision and response to HIV and AIDS in Zambia.FHT has also inculcated the reading culture in schools through text books distribution throughout the country, supported orphans and vulnerable children with educational materials, and empowered orphans and vulnerable children and widows in life skills and income generation activities.
